I still need to make the resin wheel centers so there's another few weeks yet, but it's a great looking car in that color scheme even with my terrible painting skills

Don't sweat it! DM and I will make that car famous on two continents! We love stuff like this!

Besides, the 1959 Plymouth Fury is the car I learned to drive in. And, as it happens, it was exactly the color scheme that the movie used for Christine. My first car was a 1952 Dodge Meadowlake, but I took driving lessons in a push-button drive 1959 Fury, fins and all.

That's an impressive car to learn to drive in! With the bigger engine options they were a very quick car for the time, less than 8 seconds 0-60 I think?

The car had been modified to have a brake pedal on the passenger side. I was already a gear head, so I looked, and it didn't have the exotic intake and dual carbs I was looking for. The instructor saw me look and laughed at me, saying, "I already looked- its not the fast one!" But I always liked that 318. I had 5 of them in my family over the years in Plymouths and Dodges, car and trucks. The early 318s were the engines I learned to set valves on (mechanical lifters).

Fury is nice but I grew up riding in the back seat of a 57 Belvedere. First car I drove at 14 before I got a license. Then it was moms 67 Fury III. All with the legendary 318 small block. My first purchase was a 71 Plymouth Satellite which was a 318. However it was hot rodded with cam headers edelbrock intake 4 barrel carb B&M manuel value body and reverse shift pattern B&M floor shifter B&M Toque converter 340 heads. UM I have owned 6 Chrysler or Dodge cars since I've been 18. Currently driving a '06 300C SRT8.

My first car was a 1952 Dodge Meadowlake my grandmother left me. My family had one Pontiac, one VW bus, and 4 Imperials, 3 1967 Fury IIIs, a 1969 Fury III, 2 1973 Monte Carlos, and then, I moved out and started my own series of cars to love. But I wish I could get my old Dodge back.

Wheel inserts will be cast tomorrow, I built up a chassis and finished the interior so it's all ready to go.

Just out of curiosity, why are you doing a car that Carrera has being doing for awhile?

Carrera's is a 1960 Plymouth. It's very different to the 1958

Really awesome job on a unique car. The movie is still a great one, but the book was much better.
