Cars arrived at the Big Targa today. Box looks undamaged, had to cough up $88 for Customs!

This weekend we're running the VRAA Proxy. We'll try to qualify the Ford/Ferrari cars next week and hope to race them next weekend or the weekend after. It's Proxy City around here!

Looking forward to running these.

Do we need to assist with cost of duty?

I posted a big note on the outside of the box and on the declaration form!

That's not right.

Yes , it happened here too last year Dennis, i dont think they read the notes, just look at the values. There are so many hoops to jump through to get the refund it is less hassle to pay the fees.
And the $88 includes postage handling because of the custom mistake which is non refundable. Most of the time we get away properly occasionally a customs officer doesn't do their job properly

I guess the issue was that I insured the box for $500, so perhaps they were looking at that rather than anything else.

If that's the case, then my apologies.

We have enough in the Ford-Ferrari Wars registration fees to cover the cost of this Customs fee. Luf, please send me your PayPal account name and I'll send you the money. $88 CAD - right?

We were planning on running the VRAA Proxy this weekend, but got snowed out, so the Ford/Ferrari Proxy will be run Feb 18 or 25

We're planning to run the cars this Saturday and I'll get some video then.

It never ceases to amaze me how the order changes from one track to the next with this set of cars. On my own track my cars were mid pack, now they're back at the sharp edge. Congrats to Chris on having the most consistent car in the field!

Chris, Dennis and Smokeio ... seems like your cars like the Targa course...it is almost sad to see that Luf is putting these cars through their last qualifying round. Allan this has been an amazing series when you think of the distance these cars have travelled over the year in planes, trains and cars around the world. Let alone how many feet or meters each car has covered on various tracks around the globe. It seems only fitting that the cars should end up on the infamous Targa to finish the series. To all the competitors it has been a blast. Luff and the GVSC gang have fun and finish this proxy off in a big way! Enjoy :clap:
