There's nothing in the rules about re-working a car; we intentionally kept the rules simple to encourage participation. So, this will be a ruling outside the rules.
Steve's tires don't look good. There's not much doubt this his car will continue to fall back in the standings with the tires in their current shape. I'm not sure; looking at them, if a re-true will help of not, since it looks, to me, like the tires are just starting to consume themselves. But, in the spirit of having fun, while keeping the event competitive, I have no issues with you're trying to bring those tires back to a better condition with a re-true. I can't go as far as allowing tire substitutions, but see what you can do to re-work the current rears.
If anyone has an issue with this, then let me hear from you; thanks.
Allan

I think that is a very fair option.

Thanks Allan for the confirmation. Will wave my magic wand and see what we can do to get the tires back to a reasonable condition.

Ok have polished Redlynr's tires and edges back to smooth, no guarantees they will stay smooth for long, tires have a real tacky feel to them, like when you over heat them while truing them, so they may chew up again pretty quickly. Have also taken opportunity to clean out the chassis and wheel wells as they were full of rubber marbles, so hopefully the car will get a decent run before the tires ball up again. Time will tell.

Thanks!
I'm thinking... Can you just have you leave the car out of this race? I'd rather dns this race than the last two.

So Round 9 is now done and dusted :D . Had a good turnout of club members, so my thanks to all the Drivers and Marshals. We had a pretty good time and some close racing. No damage noted.
A few changes in position from qualifying, as we ran the cars across all lanes, some cars excelled, others struggled, a few cars bettered their qualifying times as the drivers warmed to their task. Gascarnut's 2 cars were the surprise packages and the drivers all enjoyed driving them - must be those brass chassis. Audi1 wasn't far behind, chrisguyw's car was very quick, but prone to "getting away" at the limit resulting in a few de-slots. Smokeio's GT40 set the fastest race lap 4.554 - go Ford! Redlynr sat out this round.
PS we gave each car a tourist sticker to remember their visit to NZ(its removable).
Results below:
Pictures to follow.

The Group in finishing order.
Peak hour traffic at Orakei!
Drivers' favorite looking cars.
Our illustrious drivers(not) from L to R - Kev, DRW21, G, Collie - note we always drive sitting down
Driving needs lots of fuel!
This race group caused problems for both Marshals and Drivers -"I see triplets". :?

Thanks for posting the results and the pics, OrakeiRacer! Great to see a Ferrari (any Ferrari); in this case two Ferraris, in the front row in your first pic............! Knew you'd have fun with the 3 burgundy Slot.It GT-40s - everyone does.............just keep them out of the same heat and you'll be OK!
Congrats to Dennis on a 1,2 finish in this Round; which I think is actually Round #10 (John's Round was #9)! :text-bravo:
Some very close racing there! Good to see the cars getting exercised amid the casual ambience of the Orakei Raceway.............
Great job, guys - thanks!
