I believe you're right, Dale.

Both my cars are underperforming. My track likes rubber and silicone tires, it has a harder time with urethane, which is what my two cars, as well as the Marty Stanley tribute car, have on them. At this point, all 3 are no better than mid-shake down range in terms of lap times...................... I have a couple of days left, but it's looking like a taillight-counting tournament for me right now...............

Allan, let's wait for the racing, where the rubber-tired cars have to run in with the urethane-tired cars, then we'll see a difference I'm sure.

At least, that's what I am hoping for too, as my cars also have urethane tires.

UM I thought I had read in a thread that rubber and urethane didn't affect each other only running silicone on a rubber track. Learn something new every day.

In my experience on my track, the urethane tires tend to leave a fine layer of dust on the track. Really sticky NSR or Slot.it rubber tires will pick this up and they lose grip as a result.

Silicones will pick up both the urethane dust and the rubber that is laid down by rubber tires, which is why you do not want to mix silicones with anything.

So when I enter a proxy where both rubber and urethane are allowed, I generally go with urethane as those tires are tolerant of their own dust.

Three more cars arrived today and got their shake-down on my track; two from gascarnut and one from steeveew.

This is already a great looking field of cars; I think you'll like track pics when I put them up.

Arrold's two cars arrived today; a very nice looking Ferrari 512 Coda Lunga and a new Ford-GT-40. Both look great on the track! :handgestures-thumbup:

Thanks Allen for the update. I am nrw at podded chassis cars. On my track the looser the pod the worse they ran. I think in one thread RichD recommends 2on front 4 at the rear. My fronts are tight rear between 2&4. Guess I will bebringing up the rear.

#6 light on front. Guess I should have left the lead in the front. It didn't improve lap times so I left it out.

24 cars now in the grid with about 6 still outstanding, so it's looking like it will be approx. 30 cars when we do the quali next Thursday/Friday.
