Ford - Ferrari Wars Proxy - Rules & Roster

Is "TJK" the same as "AJK" on another board? If it is, then we know you from your recent Ferrari GTO 1st place in the CanAm proxy GT class.

Got any cars that might be fun to run in this Ford-Ferrari Wars proxy......................?? I'll bet you do.............. Still almost 6 months to the car due date..........................

Welcome, Mike! :text-welcomewave: Have fun with the choice; as long as the car has either a prancing horse or a blue oval heritage, it will be fine!

First post on this thread updated with your entry. Let me know what you decide on a model and number.

I hate to be the first to ask a question like this, but I'm stuck. On the Motor List we all use, there are several examples of manufacturer's estimates being optimistic about rpm @ 12v. If the tested rpm is legal, and the manufacturers stats are BS, what's the ruling? It turns out it doesn't matter to me in terms of expense. I will be buying the motor I use anyway, but I'd like to get the most for my money, so to speak.

Sorry, I didn't see this. It's the manufacturer's spec that we're using for this proxy. If it spins less than or more than the manufacturer's spec, then it's up to you whether you want to use it of not. More than, I would be smiling; less than, I would probably pass.

Hi Allan, I hope to scratchbuild something, but, in the interim, I will go with a Ford GT #24.

Cheers

Got a lot of work in today, so I'll announce, too. I'm doing a fantasy livery Ferrari 512 Coda Lunga, 1970. I had to call Andy at Prof Motor to get the goods on my motor (he doesn't make it anymore), and sure enough, it is rated 22,000 rpm. I have a handfull of these from a series we never got around to running, so its brand new. I ran the base chassis today, and its a rocket. Now if I can just get it to go around the turn rather than launch into the back yard... Maybe I can get what I want with a gearing and weight adjustment.

I'll have a number for you when I have checked what I have in the decal box.
