The Scratkiller

I was asked to copy the cabin of a real 143rd scale Kenworth truck in resin.
It was a lot of work because of the sharp, straight and rectangular edges which complicated removing the cast resin shell from the mould as well as the inner core from the shell very much. A second problem was the wall thickness which partially is 0.5 mm. Try to get it out without breaking it...
Well, this would become a longer photo story...

When the cabins were ready he asked me if I could help him with paint and decals.
One for his wife, one for him.
So I suggested a few schemes, and the scratkiller was pleased best. So the guy who ordered the cabins made the first raw design with my pictures, I refined everything and made waterslides from the design. On an inkjet printer.
Last but not least the cabin was painted inside and outside, the decals were applied and the first of the two trucks is ready.
The second one, still to come, is totally different in design.

I learned a lot of tricks during the making, despite the problems it was a lot of fun.

Lovely job Roland, I know just how difficult those trucks were to do. The end result was well worth the effort though!
