Lamp masks, window frames, spoiler frame parts etc. I put on the scanner first to keep 1:1 patterns from them for repeated if necessary use.
Black frames are best printed on clear decal sheet, only cut out at the outline, placed where needed, let dry for two, three hours ( trial ) and then with a really sharp scalpel or hobby knife cot out the inside. After this short drying time normaly it is still easily to be peeled off. The glue residues can be removed with a wet paper towel. No pressure with the blade on the glass part - if it is really sharp, it "falls" through the decal carrier.

Thanks for the tip. Some decal sets come with a decal headlight mash. If attempt this again I will attempt to make a decal. Probably a lot of messing around getting it to print the right size

Cheers

Not too difficult.
Use a masking tape that does not stick too much - means a really good one - and cover the lamp area wider than the frame would be. Avoid wrinkles. Take a pencil and rub its point flat along the edge of the lamp opening, so that you see the contour on the masking tape. Now you can remove the tape carefully, avoiding to stretch it in any direction, and stick it on something flat and even. You have the contour of the edge. If the frame shall be a bit more inside the edge, draw a parralel line. The same outside, as wide as you need it. Now you should scan it to have the pattern saved. Print out a few, cut them out and place them where needed ( trial and error ). The best one will be scanned again and saved as the final pattern. This one can be redrawn in a picture processing program and finally printed out on clear decal sheet.
