Some modeling progress after a bit of a lull. Filed out air scoops and molded screen details to be replaced with true screen mesh. First coat of Tamiya fine white primer sprayed.

Decided on a white/blue paint scheme much like the Ford J car. Not authentic but think it'll work.

While I am sure your fantasy livery will look good,......authentic is never bad..

Cheers

Ludwig Heimrath's 1965 Mosport car...........you do seem to like yellow ;)

Bruce's car....

The Nickey chevrolet version......this should actually be white with red/blue stripes. but, looks good in Sebring blue.

Road and track did a road test of the "Nickey Chevrolet" McLaren Elva in 1966.

Ended up going with the Camel Yellow finish similar to Ludwig Heimrath's car that raced at Mosport.

Trying to salvage the original kit's decals with some decal saver. Fingers crossed.

Aside from applying these, there's some grille mesh to install and then we're done.

I've always loved the Black/Silver #47. I have a very fine George Turner model of it and have been staring at it for years. It still hasn't spoken to me, but I'm waiting.

Waay...

It’s trying to tell you that it almost won its first race out at Mosport Sept. ‘64, except for a bad pitstop. It was really roaring that day! At least that’s what my GT #47 in New Zealand colors tells me...
