Hey Chris, I found and bought perhaps the only white and orange pearl 850 Mini with matching orange and white tuck and roll interior in Texas in Ft. Worth when I was going to the University of Texas in the late 60's. It was as good a conversation starter with the gals as owning a puppy.

That covered, Dan: are we looking at this Tamiya/FWD challenge happening.

I've been playing with these old AJ's to be powered by 1/32 mini rwd 2.4 Ghz chassis so I , my grand kids, grand nieces, and grand nephews can run a dozen or more on a 2 lane plastic 1/32 track.

@ VJ - didn't seem there was enough proxy interest a year ago, so just let it pass.

Cut down the Tamiya kit's alternate wheels to inserts and painted with Tamiya TS-30 Silver Leaf.

Definitely better for that street look with sharp detail.

Body's paint-detailed and mounted to the chassis. Ended up just attaching with the two front screws.

Got the body stance with the tires just barely tucked in under the wheel arches. Had to round off the front tire edges on the driver side to eliminate tire rub. Like this look on my slot car but wouldn't do this on my 1:1 Mini especially with our local pot-holed streets. Four seasons weather is tough on road surfaces here.

Gave it a run on my short and twisty wood track and got a big improvement for fast lap from last year's test. Almost 2/10ths of a second better. Must be the fresh urethane tires that helped.

No complaints as it's now my fastest 1/24 build and is so driveable through the corners like the real thing.
