@ Lou E - going to modify the kit's hood hinge system and possibly fabricate a couple of little leather straps and buckles for the front as found on some 1:1 Minis.
Got some Tamiya fine grey primer on the body and parts for the final green/white combination.
Coming along well.

Very cool photos of the engine, makes me long for those twin SU carbs again!
I have just finished a frame for a Tamiya Mini for a friend, but he is using the Rally body that has the wheel spats, so I could extend the wheel arches a bit and get the wheels all the way to the edge.

Wow, look at that chassis! Was thinking of doing my next Tamiya conversion with the spats so this is timely to see.
Thanks for posting.

Got the paint on, Tamiya TS43 Racing Green and TS7 Racing White.
Came out just as I had hoped.
Further assembly and paint detailing remains and then running on Luf's new Big Targa track.

Just made wood inserts from a craft stick for the dash. Will give it a brown finish and it'll set off nicely against the instrument pod and switches once they're paint detailed.
Getting there.

That mini is looking very nice, Dan! The detailing on the engine is way outside the box.................
I, too, have a fondness for SU carbs (MGA, etc.).

Detailed the dash.
Whoa, are those gauge decals ever puny!
Gave the wheel inserts some paint.
Think I'll leave the chrome hub caps off now.

Just finished paint detailing the Mini's window frames and body trim, the task I dreaded the most.
Thank you to thin masking tape.

Good modeling progress.
Engine bay completed with motor and ancillaries attached to the body.

Interior finished too.
Just a few exterior parts to attach and modeling's done.

My goodness - boosted brakes??
My Mini still had the old twin leading shoe drums up front, no boost and that along with the "magic wand" gear shift meant that driving was more mental telepathy than control....
Spectacular model, Dan!
