Ford Maverick T/A [ FINISHED]

Postby dge467 » Tue Jul 23, 2019 8:07 pm

This is a old Revell 1/32 kit body. I saw a sketch pad drawing of one in Parnelli Jones's 1969 Mustang paint schemes.I figured why not? It will make a cool looking slot car. I am mounting it on a modified Fly Lola chassis. Will be powered by a Scalextric black stripe motor. The interior is from who knows what with some plastic stock added to it for a better fit. More to come.

Well it is finished. I used some chrome foil for the trim and added some decals to the body. Running a Scalextric black stripe motor and Scaley T/A wheels. I just need to get some decent tires on the rear. And some weight is added to the chassis.A deeper guide will probably find it's way on to the chassis also. The front spoiler and side pipes came from the spares pile.

That looks fantastic all over. The most amazing is the front grill and chrome. The details really pop out. How was that done? Was a black wash applied over the grill to fill in all the recesses? However it was accomplished it is really excellent.

Thanks for the compliments and for looking! :)

Proxieken, I just gave the grille a blackwash with some Testor's flat black. The rest of the chrome trim and taillights were done with Bare Metal Foil.
