Headers made from 1/16" solder wrapped with tape at the ends. Easy to shape into position with the desired contour.

Tuck within the frame rails nicely.

Every time I jump on your updates, I don't think it can get better and it does!!

Working on the rad grille/headlights now.

Image

Cut some mesh that'll just friction fit.

Image

I'll black out the rad and headlight support that hopefully will hide the latter.

Sprayed on some Tamiya light gray primer. Just a few spots to fill with putty.

Image

While drying, soldered on some 3/32" square brass tube at the chassis front rails to keep wayward guide wires in place.

Image

Also, added some rear wheel insert detail with 3/32" piano wire at the hub centre.

Getting there.

@ SuperSlab - not likely to have it done by or attending this Friday's race. Got an early Saturday start to a IPMS show in Renton, Washington. Been looking forward to this event for months.

Ended up spraying Tamiya Light Sand Metallic as it was handy.

A bit of a 10 foot job, but I'm fine with it. Some Future finish will help it shine.

Good progress.

Body mounted and components (engine, rad grille and headlamp buckets) in place. Paint detailed the rims and added decals

Still need headlamp lenses, driver tray/driver figure, windscreens and tail light paint detail.

Runs pretty good but it'll be a cruiser.

Quite pleased with the results.

Some final paint details done at the front window surround and rear tailights. Made some aluminum exhaust pipes too with a little flare achieved once again with a counter sunk drill bit.
