Been looking for an old AMT All Stars 40 Ford Tudor Sedan to make a mold and hit paydirt. Friend bought a used model stash and there it was.

Image

Want to use it to make a mold? Of course!

Got the silicone and resin out and voila, first cast.

Came in at 25 grams before trimming.

Chassis build's next.

That's a keeper. Great job!

I have it on the bench as well. They make great classic racers.

Looking forward to your build.

Nice, Harry! I was going to build a street car, but those classic racers have got me thinking.

In the meantime, got no. 1 trimmed out. Nose was a bit twisted but a few seconds under hot water and some filing of the floor boards got it flat and square. Trimmed too much of the mold at the driver door bottom and floorboard intersection so got a raised section on the casts. Some careful sanding should take care of that. Fenders were thin at the main body intersections but fresh resin reinforced it. Body`s now 19 grams, not too heavy.

Cast a silicone mold of the original one-piece window assembly, so we`ll see how that vacu forms out.

Working out so far.

This cast came out too thin at the fender/body intersection and a few other spots, so off came the fenders easily.

Maybe a classic stocker or rat rod for this one.

Finally, getting back to this build.

Put together one of my adjust-o-wheelbase chassis with the Devised Designs Super slimline motor pod. Gonna miss these now that they no longer offer it.

Got the chassis rolling on RS Slot Racing RSW002 15 x 7 rims (identical to the old BWA rims) and unidentified Paul Gage tires.

Mocked the body on.

Gonna build a street rod so going for this slammed stance.

Turning out very nice sir. I'm so far behind on projects, but this car is a keeper and worth the silicone.

Will follow this one, cant wait to see it cruising around.

For some reason, to me this looks like a great candidate for a period police car paint scheme....

Went with a slight rake rather than slammed all around.
