Bugatti type 59 scratchbuild
Posted: Sat Feb 03, 2018 12:13 pmPicked up a used type 59 Bugatti kit off ebay the other day for $4. it was missing one wheel, and had been partially assembled. It was an old Pyro kit, and is fairly close to scale. I gave this one a Slimcan motor around 16k, and a printed motor pod, some brass, a slotting plus guide, and of all things, I used a wheel/tire combo off a Carrera Merc streamliner. They were as close to the needed 19" wheels that were used on the type 59. they look a bit big to me, and maybe a little time on the tire razor will get the profile down to my liking. Paint is med Blue dupli color. It is a great little runner, and fits in with my other early grand prix cars of the same era.
