Got one JK F1 off set motor bracket left, so this'll be the last wire/brass chassis build for awhile.

The Slot It Porsche GT1 evo98 body's a svelte 17 grams so this'll make what I consider a middle weight, 85g - 90g.

Chassis parts gathered and ready for soldering.

Curious on how this'll compare to the stock Slot It.

Got the car going with the Slot It flat 6 motor, scale 17" wheels and axles from the stock car. Gear ratio's 2.7:1 using a 10t pinion and 27t crown gears.

Has more grip than the stock car through certain corners on my layout. There's lots of other tuning (additional weight, gear ratio, alternative motor type) to try out.

Body mounting's all that's left to do.

Body's mounted with my usual single post, front and rear.

Sits low just like the stock Slot It.

Mounting screws are tight with no body float and that improved the driveability compared to running the chassis alone. I wonder if that reduced unwanted longitudinal chassis flex?

In any case, it worked out.

A question I've always wondered. Since the body already has posts, how do you know where to exactly drill the holes in the chassis? This is where I guess and I'm always off a little.

I just make new body posts. Screw them to the chassis, adjust the height for the desired body stance and glue them to the body.

The originals are likely in the way and cut out.
