Starting on another 30's era sports car. This one is a 1932 Mercedes SSK. This car was a 116" wheelbase sport version of the WO series cars designed by Mr. Porsche himself. In fact, it was the last car he did for Mercedes before going on to something else, not sure what he did after that? With a supercharged 7.1 litre engine, this car was a fast runner for its time. I hope to capture some of that rich history in this build. Plans call for a custom chassis with steerable front wheels, Slotting plus guide, PG Tires, 1/8" axles, using Strombecker wire wheels. This car has room for a normal can motor, so a moderate RPM powerplant will be found. By the way, this is a pyro kit. Historically, these kits have been under scale for 1/32. the sports car series however, is spot on so far. They are fairly cheap, and easy to find, so I could have a few of these old pre war lemans cars in my fleet. Anyhow, nuff said, here is my starting point.

Another very cool project Bob. That car looks like it would be very nice to drive. Maybe a Tuna motor?
