Lola T160 build 3 - re-chassied with piano wire

@ Radarek - about 3/32" clearance from track surface.

Ready now for a test run against versions 1 and 2 with my adjust-o-wheelbase square brass tube/piano wire construction and Devised Designs slimline motor pod.



Same motor, a Scalextric 20K red slimline, with the identical 3:1 gear ratio installed.





Body's lower on the chassis than before.







Overall weight's now 78g from 91g. Feels planted and driveable on my little test track.

More telling once I get a few comparison laps on Luf's Big Targa, Chris's Killarney and Roger's Maple Ridge tracks this weekend.

Dan, Looks great as usual. Always nice to see your clean work.
(I have one of those Strombecker (?) bodies too. Great detail. Started to modify it - if cutting it into four sections still qualifies as modification - but it is now entombed in Tupperware, awaiting recombination.)

Hi JT,

The Lola's my re-pop of the Maxi Models T160 body. I hate grinding resin so I've gotten quite good at slosh casting light weight bodies. Sometimes I'm thin in a few spots but that's easy to reinforce with fast setting two-part epoxy. I'd rather add than subtract.

Good to see you're doing some slot car stuff.
