'71 Pontiac Trans Am

Postby Wobble » Fri Apr 14, 2017 3:13 pm

This is a Monogram '71 Trans Am 1/32 kit that I picked up along the way. It was pretty much untouched and incomplete but all the essential bits were there. I had expected it to be almost exactly the same wheelbase as a Pioneer or Scaley Camaro chassis but it needed something a tad longer so is now sitting on a Scalextric Chevy Impala COT Nascar chassis with a Camaro rear axle and Escort front wheels which are a tad undersized. As the body was wide enough to accept a Camaro axle I didn't bother extending the rear arches. A few finishing touches are still required and the interior was the major piece missing but in the slot car world a simple card interior will suffice.

In 76 :banana-dance: I was lucky, found a bright orange one sitting on the show room floor, just over five grand. :auto-driving: :auto-checkeredflag:

Thanks for your comments guys. Crockett and bigman, this model has always been a favourite of mine too. Pity it's just a toy.
