Back in the day before Slot It and NSR, the Ninco Mercedes CLK GTR was one of THE fast cars in my racing circles.

It's been surpassed since, so let's see if we can bring back some glory. Gonna use my last BWA rtr chassis as a basis.

This particular body had remarkable tampo printing and still impresses today.

Should have this running tonight.

Got the chassis rolling.

Components used include:

Motor - Ninco boxer of unknown origin
Pinion/crown gears - SCX Pro 9t/SCX Pro 24t
Front wheels/tires - Slot It 15 x 8/SCX unknown origin
Rear wheels/tires - Slot It 15 x 8/ PG 22166
Guide - TSRF

Mounted chassis by sleeving the original posts with 7/32" Evergreen styrene tube, slicing them from the body and tapping them for 4-40 screws and remounting to the body at positions determined by the chassis mounting holes. Didn't have to touch the stock interior tray as it's already quite shallow.

Body stance is good keeping tire clearance in mind.

Drives smooth and planted as you would expect from a 105g car.

Turned out good.

Oh man, I forgot about that car. You did great! Makes me wonder if I have some old cars I can whip up some brass for. Especially Ninco when they were blithering through endless versions of motors. I never liked anything but the bodies anyway. Perfect for fabricating chassis to improve. Great idea.
