gs d3d.JPGNot sure if this really counts as "scratch built," but posting anyway. This an old Monogram Corvette Grand Sport body I had lying around fitted to a chassis made with 2mm brass rods, brass sheet, and D3D front and rear carriers. Slot-it axles and gears, with an M/T Slimline FF050 motor. I had a terrible time getting a chassis under this thing, due to the original front motored configuration and deep interior tray. The D3D rear sidewinder pod and slimline motor finally did the trick. Still had to cut the tray way down and add a new styrene bottom to it. After I finally finished it, I saw a NOS Monogram chassis on ebay for $3.99, still in the package. But what would be the fun of that?
