Branded tires back on new D132 Carrera DTM's

Just got the two latest D132 BMW DTM cars 30881 & 30882 and noticed that Carrera has gone back to "Hankook" branding on the tires instead of the generic "Carrera"

seems to be only on the DTM's - everything else I've seen, including the D124 #67 Ford GT still has Carrera generics

Appreciate the change back, curious about the rationale...

I have 14 DTM models. All of them have HANCOOK tire markings. I admit I do not have all of them anymore.

Latest Torino just says CARRERA. Kinda miss the "Decent Decade". Could care less. Rear tires will be swapped out and at speed? Well, no worries.

It doesn't make sense to me why a tire company wouldn't want their name on slot cars or models, it's free advertising. Why have I paid extra for raised white lettering on wide ovals for my cars? Because that's what I remember from muscle cars from the '60's when I became a car nut.

My grandson loves muscle cars from hanging around with me. But since he started playing racing video games his favorite cars are the ones featured in those games. He's now in college and only a few years from buying his own first car, and what does he want? Definitely a tuner and at the top of his list - a Subaru WRX. Why? Because he's won driving that car in video land a bazzilion times.

Okay, I have to do a statement:

We changed to 'Carrera' mostly because of the variants getting out of hand.
MICHELIN alone surprised us every year with new variations of their tyre-logo, just check the models we did and the differences in details on the tires.

F1's 'PIRELLI' was kept, because the tires are all the same for all F1-models, the tires are exclusively used for that series, and the licensors demanded it.
DTM's 'HANKOOK' could have been kept from the start, too, but some things need a bit time and persuasion. :D

Having our brand featured on most of the models seemed tempting...

The CEO of QCP that bought us, is doing motorsport as a hobby.
His newest acquisition was shown this friday and saturday in Spa, when the new Porsche Clubsport GT2 premiered.

If the livery is any indication, slotracing will still go stronk! :)
