Here's an opportunity right in your "back yard" for all of you telling me there's never any shows in the area...

The First Annual New England Toy and Collectible Show:
Sunday December 2nd @ The Holiday Inn, Taunton MA
Exit 9 off I-495, plenty of free parking, doors open @ 9 am.

This is the same promoter that runs the long standing mid March "MassCar" model car show, which is now known as RTS EXPO.
The hotel is easily accessible and is the same venue as that long running event.

There will be a mix of vendor types, of course, but I can tell you there will be a full row of 4 tables specializing in new and vintage HO slot cars, parts, and accessories. Yes, 32 feet of Aurora, TYCO, Auto World, and others will be available. "Mr. Aurora" Bob Beers will be bringing his large selection of NOS Aurora Model Motoring and AFX cars and parts, and will be joining me for this first time event, just in time for the Holidays. I will also have a limited selection of 1/24-25, 1/32, and 1/43 scale model kits, many of which can be adapted to slot car racing. I will have NASCAR, Drag, and Street/Custom decals for the larger scale, as well as 1/24-25 model body kits for slot car conversion or "kit bashing". And of course there will be some new Auto World HO slot cars, bodies, and track accessories. I'll have a few vintage Aurora items, including some clean original Thunderjet 500 bodies in original "clam shell" cases, and a mixed assortment of parts and accessories. Between the two of us there will be an assortment of vintage Aurora and TYCO HO slot cars available to add to your fleet of racers or collection, as well as some very cool HO scale die cast trailers and other assorted automotive related die cast pieces in various scales.

I'm looking forward to this new event and am hoping to meet some new slot car friends from the New England area.

Just got back to Long Island late last night. The heavy rains kept a good part of the crowd away from the gate, but if you were shopping for model/slot cars there was a very good choice of vendors on hand! Next year promises to be much better, with a more thorough advertising network, including ads in the usual places on the web and local "hand to hand" flyers.
Yeah, we got wet loading in at 6 am for the set up, but it was only a light rain in the afternoon for breakdown and the trip back to Connecticut for a hot meal and a good night's rest. I came home with some good scores for myself, including lots of HO parts and a few new AFX Super G+ and SRT cars for local club road and drag racing use.
