yep, I saw the video where you talked about it. Sounds a sensible way of going around any license issue.
Besides, will allow us digital racers to get 6 white kits and create 6 different cars to race "now" instead of waiting 2 years for scalextric to release a full grid. They have done this with the trucks, the go-kart, the new mini F series (there are still 2 available), the DP, just to name the most recent.
Now they are coming out with the McLaren F1: where are they going with this?? Are they going to release other models that raced in the BPR global GT series? That would be interesting...

The white kits aren't a way around the license, the fantasy liveries are.
I don't know the reasoning behind making that McLaren acutally. They often do British cars because... they're British... I have discussed with them what might be a car to go with that McLaren though, it was a topic as I understand it that was brought up by people last weekend at the UK Slot Festival. I personally dislike orphan cars like most people dislike liver and onions... hopefully there will be a companion car.

Just noticed this Trans Am car, once listed as a new livery for Scalextric this year, is not part of this announcement.

I am loving the Monte Carlos and the Laurel Racing 1970 Camaro. Thumbs up to Scalextric for bringing some cool American cars to the US market.

How soon on the Ford gt and Monte ...all I wanna know

Wow, lots of Australian V8 muscle cars in there too, like the Reverse cobra paint job 1978 Falcon (Blue with white stripes) and the Red and white A9X Torana even a road going paint job for the Falcon XY GT. I really appreciate the fact that Scalextric are catering for whats probably a small market in the grand scheme of things so I will grab as many as I can afford in order that they hopefully keep doing it.

The Monte Carlo's look awesome, the Frank Gardner Boss 302 is a must and so is the white challenger. What a line up, the rusty VW's are cool too. :banana-dance:

The Monte Carlos will only be a big hit if they feature real liveries. I am eager to have a collection of Nascar from this period. However, just can't get excited about these stand ins.
