Had a good conversation with the USA reps. Models are on the way and one coming here for a faster review.

Make sure to get a hold of your favorite stockist if you want one. NO, I'm not saying there are sold out. But as popular as this car is, I doubt it will last long.

I bet you're right. I got my pre-order in later than I planned, and I hope I get one.

Harry,

I plan on waiting to see what you have to say about the car before I decide whether to pull the trigger or not. My main concern is if they got the body mostly right or not. The Javelin body is fairly complex so if it is in the ball park than Scalextric should get high marks.

Best regards,
Brian

I agree that the Javelin is a tough shape to get right, but frankly, it doesn't have to be that perfect for me to be happy. Think about it... the #4 carmaker in the US, making a stab at the TransAm Ponycar races. I'll get it just because I love an underdog!

YES, will be getting one. Guess it will be the George Follmer/Roy Woods livery. However just pick up a Pioneer 68 Smokey Yunick Camano off of E-Bay. So it will be April before I can put one in the Trans-Am stable. Still looking forward to the Car.

I picked one up today and ran it around on my routed track here at home...I don't think these are slot car tires on it, they were impossible to get traction with no matter what I did. Slapped on some silicones..totally different animal.
Smooth and jumpy off the corners. The green endbell motor id say is stronger than my other scaleys, especially since it'll unhook the tires so easily. It's punchy.
Cars light though..maybe it just needs a bit of lead.
I like it a lot and if it weren't so smooth already I'd have swapped out the bushings and gears and axles etc. scalextric did a decent job with this one and for now I'll just add weight , maybe a guide. :text-bravo:
