Zipper Top Proxy at SCC

Postby nhdungeonracer » Fri Aug 02, 2013 2:14 pm

Just letting everyone know the cars have arrived here at SCC.
I have unpacked, and looks like they arrived in good shape. The worse I saw was a piece of a rollbar had come off. I will glue it back on before we race them.

We don't have a set date just yet. I thinking maybe later next week, but not really sure...
Will let you all know when we get something figured out

Cliff, relax, you will be one of the first to know, ok?

Hi guys, Sorry for the lack of updates, been kind of nutty round here...

We did run the cars last night, and the guys really enjoyed running them. Hopefully tomorrow I'll get a chance to post the results... :shifty:

I did get quite a few pics before the batteries in the camera died, so I'll get those up so you can see them as well.

Ok, here we go...

We had 5 driver's show up to race, so 4 were picked. From left to right are Cliff (Shirley53), Claudio, Jonathan and Josh (ManchVegas)

Our 5th person, Bob, volunteered for marshalling duties...

The driver's really enjoyed running the cars, and I must say they looked very cool running around the track. Kudos to Mark for coming up with this Proxy series :banana-rock:

Some cars ran very well, while others were a bit top heavy (they'd be the ones upside down in the slideshow below).

Each car was run for 3 minutes in each lane, so each driver had a chance to run each car. The final results are...

1st - 9 - Fumey - 77.70
2nd - 43-HRW ---- 75.10
3rd - 66-Sadco -- 75.00
4 - 47-DCS ----- 74.05
5 - 22-HRW ---- 73.85
6 - 26-DCS ---- 72.90
7 - 34-GUY ---- 72.85
8 - 9 - Austin - 71.95
9 - 4 - HBilly -- 70.90
10- 22-Hogan -- 70.35
11- 33-Cagee -- 69.30
12- 57-Sadco -- 69.05
13- 8 - Way2 -- 68.45
14- 59-VAlfa --- 66.35
15- 2 - Reek --- 61.85

Here is a slideshow of 50 some odd pics..

Now if you've ever wondered what the Boss looks like, I think we found him...

I thought you might have lost my car, but most of it finally showed up back in the group shot! I was starting to worry, there were so many black Plymouths that were similar but not mine. Whew!

Thanks to all who entered a car. The guys really did enjoy them.
Apologies if I missed getting a pic of your car. As mentioned earlier, the camera batteries went dead 1/2 way thru the race, and I wasn't able to get all the cars.

The cars were handed over to Steve of Smith Scale Speedway fame yesterday, so keep an eye out for his race. :D
