Well, we have run these Proxy cars every way we can think of. First was the
Palm Bay Track, owned by Marty Stanley, 66ft in length and made of MDF, routed with four lanes of high speed turns and generous straights. We ran time trials and noted the car weights and guide distances just to see how handling was affected with these different specs.
Next we raced laps on as near of a super-speedway as you can get on the replica of the Daytona International Speedway at Greg Walker’s track,
The Race Place, in Holly Hill, FL. We ran full throttle laps that proved just who had the quicker car without the possibility of human error. We sure would have liked to install some different gears for this race but lap times revealed just how close these MT-1 motors are built… a good product that deserves recognition.
Jacksonville was next with the famous Florida Orange track at
Slot Car Raceway and Hobbies. What a great time we had with that race. Track owners Johnny Banks and Rollin Isbell were impressed by the almost “No Rules†construction of our Proxy cars. Local racers, that haven’t been to the track in quite some time, showed up and got their chance to step up and get reacquainted into racing again. Eight drivers picked their favorite lane and stayed on that lane while the cars were changed from lane to lane. Everybody got to race every car for a two minute heat and every car ran on all eight lanes.
Here is a few photos of our fun…

Hang on, now. We’re not done yet. The Proxy cars made another trip down to DeBary, FL to Bob DeWoody’s four lane 65ft Scalextric Sport track, DeBary Glen Raceway. It just didn’t seem right, not to have a race on the one type of race track that these little cars would perform best on. Stay tuned…
