I have just finished the run for each car and my brain hurts....results to come when I collate them.
I have also arranged for a guest judge for the concours, he will visit sometime in the week.

Munter, thank you for the qualifying, the run and incredible consistency across many build variations. The pictures are great also. The #65 P2 was the only car I saw missing in the stats. But perfect like always

Wow 23 deslots. Surprised you didn't quit counting after 10. :lol: I will make sure the one I am building for the SCCA Proxy has a better guide/front wheel placement. Thanks for the comments and hats off to the podium finishers.

I can only surmise that several competitors base their choices on plastic track experiences, where the best guide is small, shallow and has a leading edge that is rounded at the lower tip...not really helpful on many wooden tracks.

As a regular racer on both plastic and wooden tracks I can say that yes, the guide can play a role in this.
However there is more. First of all, most
modern plastic track systems have a decent slot depth (not like the old scalextric classic track).
For instance on my scalex sport track I like to use scaleauto guides and these have the leading edge more pronounced on the lower part and still I do not have any problem with it scraping the slot.
However, most of the issues a car might have are masked by the magnetic traction of the motor towards the rails of the plastic track.
Maybe the only track system that is closer to the wooden track experience is Carrera but there is still some residual magnetic force.

I only have Carrera plastic track to test on. Never run magnets and as far as I am aware SC130 motors offer little if any magnetic traction.

It is evident that my cars are not set up for the wooden tracks that most proxies are run on. Somethimg that is stable and won’t deslot at home, I have witnessed run off striaght on a curve on a wooden proxy track. Deeper long guides will be used going forward.
