Nope, we’re going to keep the TransAm cars out of it (Mustangs, Camaros, etc.), there’s already a proxy for them. And the Daytona Cobras never ran SCCA, as far as I know.

Will you include the cars raced in the United States Road Racing Championship (USRRC), the pro series sanctioned by SCCA between 1962 and 1965? Lots of interesting cars there.

Alan, you might want to think about imposing a maximum width of, say, 60mm to ensure that the Thunderslot version of the Lola T-70, which was introduced in 1965, doesn't blow all those early Chaparrals, McLarens, McKees, King Cobras, Husseins, etc. out of the water.

Just sayin'.

Hi Stewart, Yes the USRRC cars will be allowed (read way back on this thread and you’ll find that series mentioned). Not sure yet about a width limitation.

Most of these shells mentioned above are available from AA Bodies in the UK> They are fibre glass and require an awful lot of work to get them right but if you want these cars you don't have many alternatives. I've built many of them over the years. the Cooper Bobtail is very cute car but tiny.

I found a car to build that run in the AP class. I take it is a Production class car but I am just not sure what the letters stand for

The letters: A, B, C, etc. are Class designations; for the most part, they referred to the displacement of the motor; A being larger than B, being larger than C, etc. P or M; the letters that follow the A, B, C, etc refer to the Division

Thanks Chris. Looks like we will need to revisit the motor rules one more time....... Perhaps we don't really need slimline motors - that would make life a lot simpler all around.

Here are the set of rules that TeamWild came up with for the hostclub. It does make for some very close racing. Just something to look at.

Vintage Sports car
- Street and racing sports cars produced before 1968
- Production made plastic chassis cars (Scalextric, Fly, MRRC, Ninco, Carrera, Pinkcar, Reprotec, etc)
- Approved list of Motors rated near13k rpm's at 12 volts
--- Artin White End bell 13k
--- Cartrix TX1
--- Ninco NC1, NC8, NC11
--- Pink Car Power Plus 1
--- Power Slot PS-2 (small can motor)
--- SCX RX4
--- H&R 14K (gearing limited to 8/28)
--- DR Vanski (gearing limited to 8/28)
--- M&T-1 and SL-1
- Maximum width over the Tires is 2.000 inches. Tires may not stick out from the body to reach this measurement.
- Maximum Wheel size is 15x7 front and back.
- May use silicone or urethane tires, Max tire width is 9/32 (7mm) (Contact patch, sidewall may be wider)
- recommended rear tire: urethane - PGT-21093 silicone - Quick Slick - CB29 or CB30
- Gear ratio to be 3 to 1 (8/24, 9/27, 10/30) May use a smaller pinion or bigger spur.
- 3d printed chassis allowed, inline only, motor pod must be tight.
