Randy, thank you for a great report. Your solution to the ghost car problem was excellent and should probably be preferred method for starting the ghost car (as long as you have a pit lane). Thanks again for taking the time to post this.

Appreciate hearing the details on how the cars ran and the insight about the "loose making it hard to pass the ghost car" - I purposely set mine up a bit on the loose side, figuring that it would make it less likely to deslot on lane changes, but sounds like that may not be the best plan. :think:

Well, Randy sent the cars to Buspor, earlier this week. According to USPS tracking they are at the destination Post Office and are out for delivery. According to the tracking, the "destination" PO is Atlanta, but they were shipped to Buspor who lives in Knoxville, TN!!! This was getting border-line ridiculous with all the other issues we have had. I think we have now crossed the line into pathetic.

Looking at google maps its a little over a 3 hour drive between Atlanta and Knoxville, so hopefully its not as bad as it sounds.
But it sure does seem to be a strange route for the our box.

Buspor, thanks for letting us now the cars arrived safely. Since the situation is no longer time sensitive, the misdirection was not a big deal. It just struck me as, "what else can go wrong?" If you go back and look at the issues we have had in this proxy it is pretty strange that this many things happened in this small event. Maybe because it is digital we just had too many zeros line up and and not enough ones. I have no explanation for the antics of the US Postal Service. Normally, they are quick and efficient.

Great news, I plan on running the race on Saturday, January 14. Nothing fancy, just four drivers, a ghost car and long enough heats for one pit stop.

I was able to run the race last night, does anyone want to know the results......, but first, some info.

I had four drivers, all familiar to digital, no mag cars. The cars were set at 100% speed, but varied the brake as needed. I toyed with the idea of varied speed, but we agreed that is speculative based on preference. Plus, the throttle goes both ways. We ran twenty lap heats using fuel, but after the first heat, realized the tanks would just go the distance. At twenty laps, each car would run eighty laps, using all four drivers. Four cars run at a time, so it was more like a actual digital event. We chose not to run qualifying, as we didn't really know what that would show. Yingling RMS. We occasionally used a track call, but mostly just kept running or stopped while the de-slot was cleared. I'm looking forward to doing this again next year, I've got some ideas....

Thank you for fitting this race into the schedule. I really like the wood tracks and it looks like my car does also.
Thank you to all track owners for making time for the WDP and thank you for the use of your tracks.
Is there another track coming or is this the end of the series? I hope there are more tracks.

Thanks for the update and the great video, Buspor! I can't believe that my car did so well. My first podium!

There is one last race at my place, plus we have to make up the 2 cars at Czar's track. We haven't worked out the logistics of that yet, but we'll let everyone know as soon as we have a plan.
