GVSCC Targa 2

Postby Retro Racer 44 » Wed Feb 03, 2016 3:52 pm

Hi everyone:

The members of the GVSCC have had a nice relaxed holiday, and with absolutely no snow to shovel it seems to be time to thinks about Targa 2.

Our first Targa Florio proxy was very well received, and enjoyed by both the participants and club members who drove the cars. Apart from a couple of Post Office glitches, all the cars arrived home safe and sound.

We are now inviting your participation in Targa 2, and the rules package is attached to this post. Please note that there have been some changes to the rule package, especially as related to Class A, which will now be a more vintage group of cars with more exacting tire measurements. There will now also be an open motor rule for both classes.

Please read the rule package carefully and let me know if you choose to enter. We have set a limit on entries this year to allow better event scheduling, and several racers expressed their wish to join us for this second round.

Please let me know if you plan to enter, and have at least your class decided when you do.

Thank you,

Keith

Hello Keith, I plan to enter.....please put me down for a Class B car, although I am scouring the net for a car in class A that I would like to build.....if I find one, and there is space. I may switch.

Cheers

Oh boy, now to find something cool to try class A with. Sounds great, the last one was fun to watch.

As of right now, we have 7 entries for class A and 11 for class B. That equals 18, half the number we set as a manageable total. It has been about two days since the new rules were posted. I still have to add the local guys. I will see most of them tonight. I give a reserved entry to the track hosts, so that is probably six more for sure. That leaves a dozen spots for sure that are still available. Anyone who has not replied needs to get on it soon.

If you have not heard of this proxy, check out the original thread from last year's run.

Cheers,

Keith

I just received a personal message that made my day. THE MISSING BOX TO THE ISLE OF MAN HAS ARRIVED. It seems that in its unfathomable wisdom Canada Post decided that although boxes containing one car each should go airmail, a box with four cars had to go surface. I guess that means it went aboard an RMS, Royal Mail Steamship. I thought all overseas mail went by air these days, but I guess I was wrong.

So I can now breathe a little easier knowing that all the cars from the GVSCC Targa Florio Proxy are back home where they should be.

We are now up to 28 entrants with a max of 36. Class B is pretty much filled, but I will allow a few more in that class if necessary.

Cheers, and cheers again.

I've always wanted a real one but this is as close as I think I will actually get. It will be proxy ready, just gotta figure out which proxy it may fit in other than Pony Wars
