Abarth Mike, as you can see, when we created wheels that didn't exist before, we used mostly exact measurements (14x6, 14x7, 14x8) for the diameter and the width. For other sizes, we just used existing measurements so slot racers could use existing tires along with the wheels. That's why the dimensions are sometimes a little bit off their «marketing» name.
For example, the 15x11 wheels were made the same dimensions of the Fly/FlySlot Classic car wheels. The 17x11 wheels were made to replace the Scalextric modern GT/LMP car wheels so we just used the same measurements. We also wanted the 17x8 wheels to be able to use the same tires as the 15x8 wheels and that's why they have similar center rib measurements. The 14x12 wheel (F1) uses the same exact dimensions of the existing F1 wheels from Slot.it and NSR, so their tires and other brands of tires could be used.
I really hope this brand new reference chart and those explanations will make you understand why the wheels are named like they're named. Thank you.
