hey thanks Guys!!
I've had a couple request to try to describe the wiring on this deal so that others can have some fun too.Well here goes in my simple thought process.. :)

The switches that I used were ol' em pinball type leaf switches salvaged for some old projects. These can still be bought new. With these type of switches I was able to assemble them so that the straights are activated when the switch is in a neutral position. Then when the wheel is turned either left or right, this De-activates the straight and activates either curve. These type switches are ideal for this, easy to adjust.
The track has a rail on each lane divided into sections. Thus it is only hot when the switch is in the correct position.Care must be taken that each section is insulated from the other sections. You have a total of 10 wires run to the sections of track along with the common wire for the other solid rails.
Now to get the ghost car running I used a double pole, double throw switch. You will need to run feeder wires off of the two curve sections links from your switches. Make sure they are isolated from each other. If not, when you go back to racing with two players, your track will not work correctly. This will connect on the two top post of the toggle switch. Then you will run the common feed to the bottom four post.
I have my lanes on separate power supplies that adjust.I used small, cheap tattoo supplies from e-bay.One will also have to install a separate adjustment for the ghost car to slow it down when running one player. This is done by splicing into the common feed going to your toggle switch and installing a Potentiometer.
Hope this helps.I'll try to get some type of wiring diagram done up that maybe folks can kinda see what needs to be done.
If I can help in any way let me know.
