Dundee Speedway pg 2 updates

Postby Dundee Denny » Thu Nov 14, 2013 10:56 pm

The Boyz could never never build a wood track........... we need to change ours up yearly!!

Here is the latest variation (you see the year old version on page 2 of Reader Roads)

Bozy made it all one elevation for the most part, bulldozed some of the structures, greened up the place a little and sprinkled a wide variety of R1,2,3,4 curves into the mix, and went from 135 feet to 128 feet.

Nice update Dundee. I really like the lighted areas and all the lighted signs. You've got a ton of cool scenery items. It would make a train guy jealous. Jim

Wow! That is a lot of scenery, very cool! I can see you have a lot invested in your track (in time and $). I haven't added anything to my track, but it is fun finding the trackside scenery. You may have inspired me to look for some additions...:)

Yep, that's one of the advantages of plastic...you can fairly easily change things up and try different configurations.

Thanks for the pictures! Didn't know you changed your track layout annually. :text-coolphotos:

The ultimate test is how equal the lanes are to me.

Took a McLaren M20 Carrera at one extreme and had 14.6 on one lane and 14.8 on the other.

At the opposite end ran a Ferrari 330 P4 from Scalextric and ran 13.9 on both lanes!

So feeling real good on the lane equality.

The different R4 down to R1 curves and a "fair" straight away allow for driving ability to play an important part in the lap time.

Looks really nice Denny, love all the scenery items you got on the track. I have to ask though, what did you use for the stone wall on the raised section?

Interesting you ask since it was the major theme of the make over.

From Scenery Express.com Shale Cliff Foil stone #HK3137 16"x7" sheet (2 per pack) but not inexpensive at $14.99 per pack of two.
Vendor is Heki

I hot glued them together and just stapled them to the track!

I have a low stick with it level and these rocks passed that test!~!

Highly recommend them.

Rte 66 track build on page 2 is where I saw them, really look real!!
