I did a track bending tutorial on a couple of the other sites, I don't think I should link them here. Basically I made several small cut along the bottom of the track w/a hand wood saw. You only have to do that for the extreme bends, the smaller ones I just gently flex the track around a round object. Yes, you do have to check to see if you kink it anywhere but Scalesport track is amazingly easy to bend.

this is great, I live on part of the old Route 66, and your cuts look like a few spots I have been to

you got to do the old Coral Court Motel, known as the No Tell Motel, with a touch of class :naughty:

Some progress. I scratch built a concrete bridge & have planned out where the first building will be. It will be a vintage Texaco station. I made the cardboard mock up & then decided that I wanted the awning over the pumps moved to the right hand side (as shown here). That's why I do a mock up first!

The bridge is part cast plaster & part styrene. It was painted Krylon Khaki camouflage & then aged a bit.

I added a photo of the rough section I created using Scale Sport track as well. Questions and or comments are welcome. Cheers.

Randy

That bridge is the bee's knees...however, what has me intrigued is the mocked up Texaco station. That looks better than my last pit building!

I got started on the Texaco station. I'm using foam core & styrene. Here's the basic shell.

Wow, very different and very cool!

Some people were complaining about my track having so much elevation! You could really get some air taking that hill at speed...

I'm enjoying the work in progress! Thanks for sharing the developments with pictures.

Thanks. You can't fly too much over the hill because it is so steep that you lose momentum. It is possible to overdo it & deslot though.

A little progress on the Texaco Station. I have some great 3.5" decals that I am going to use for the roadside sign.

I was able to frame in the windows and doors. The glass block window material is from Plastruct. At this time the doors/windows are not glued in yet, just leaning in place until final painting is done. I made two tabs for the awning w/corresponding holes so that it can be removed when needed.

Color & signs! I still need to add the green striping along the sides & to finish detailing & weathering it but it's starting to look like a gas station. Now I need some 1/32 gas pumps...
