Starting back in the hobby. I am starting with carerra 132 and 124 scale track and cars. Just remodled a building behind my house for a slot car room. Its 10 by 19 feet. Not much but it is what it is. I have ordered an adjustable power supply , numerous track pieces and all kinds of other goodies to get the 2 sets I already have to where I want them. Had the itch pretty bad so I had to set up a temporary track. Started painting the track , so some pieces are painted and some are not. Evereything I ordered should be here early next week , so I will be taking it apart and finishing the paint job next week. Here are 2 of the tracks I have set up just to calm the itch. And yes Ive changed the table up 3 times already. And probably will again.

I updated my track post with my 2 lane Carrera 'Bertrand 8' layout. Just got running this weekend so I can break out some cars.
I will need to tweak a little and set up some man made borders for the tighter corners, the 1/24's like to drag the inside wheel off track. :P

What is best for cutting MDF ? Scroll saw? Circular saw ?

Depends on what shape you are cutting. Just about any saw or router will do a good job on MDF when using a fine tooth blade or carbide tipped router bit. I use a sabre saw for curves and a table saw or miter saw for straight cuts. If you are using a router with a template guide you can cut either straight cuts with a straight board for a guide or curved cuts with a curved template for a guide. Or you can mount a router to the end of a straight board with a pivot point for the radius of cut you want and use it like an arm to swing the router around the center point of the arc you want.
Hope this helps
