Putting the finishing touches on a Scalextric 1/24 scale 3 lane layout to get into our club's venue rotation this season. Renting a converted/former milk room on a farm, so I'll be minimizing landscaping to make the eventual tear down that much less complicated. Will go the 'forest' route and space a few dozen trees around the layout.
MG variable/regulated power supply; DS300 lap counters (dead strips) feeding PC Lapcounter race management; 3 power taps; alligator clip and/or XLR controller hookups.
1/8" cork underlayment, with the green felt on top to minimize the 'clackity clack' inherent in plastic track.
Lap length is about 75', I've got about 50' more in boxes I don't have room to use!poolesville forest one.jpegpoolesville forest five.jpegpoolesville forest four.jpeg

Good to see you up and running Todd. You and Bernard may have the only two 3 lane Scalex setups running in America.

I've always enjoyed three-lane tracks for racing. Feels a little less personal than a two-lane track. Fun looking layout, how long is the main straight?

Had the pleasure of visiting Harry and racing on his Scalextric, not to mention admiring the collection.

Update: About 'finished,' for all intents and purposes up and running. Full blown shakedown session scheduled for 3/11 with first official race day on 3/25.
Finessed the layout a bit, took a turn into the infield, adding about 7' to the lap length, for a total of 80'. Cut out a section of the table where I put the turn/curve...allowing for easier access for turn marshals in addition to adding to the lap length.
Will be filling in most of the green infield area with trees, going more for the 'drivers' country club' vibe as opposed to a detailed race course.pville 9a.jpeg

yeah, the layout does tend to change a little when one starts running on it. how does that squiggle over the bridge work?
three lanes plastic 1/24, never seen that one before. nice track! and presentation.
what cars do you run on it? (just curious.)
