I posted a photo of the winner's podium at my basement slot car track for the September photo contest. Here are some longer shots of the same podium at my track. I'll try to get around to posting more photos of my track in the next few days.

Podium with lightweight Jag E-type (Revell).

I love the looks of the lightweight Jag E-type, run mine all the time. That area of your track looks great, keep it going we love it. You do great work.

I have been working on a Scalextric track (combination classic and sport track) for a few years now. Copper tape on the lanes makes a big, positive difference for my slot cars. These shots were taken while scenery was just getting under way.

Scenery improvement next to the east end banked corner.

Backside of pit row, chicane. Lots more work to be done before real racing can begin.

Very nice track and I appreciate the scenery details you are putting in. It was nice to see your podium area, as that is on my todo list as well.

Cheers

Here are some more photos from my basement slot car track:

Image
Just passed under the bridge and now around the corner and up the hill leading to the main straight.

Image
Speeding alongside the mountain steam after passing under the bridge. Curious bull moose could prove to be a huge hazard.

Racing towards the highest elevation at Overlook Raceway Park.

Zooming past the billboard advertising upcoming Can-Am historic races.

Image
Almost at the high point of the track, looks like the Mustang will scrape the Armco barrier.

I took lots of photos, so here are some more:

Image
No. 17 is leading as they pass the Can-Am historic race billboard. The mountain goat has a good view of the whole racetrack from his perch.

Image
Passing over the bridge and heading up the main straight toward the pits.

Image
Just passed the grandstand on the left and heading under the pedestrian bridge.

Image
The Mustang is still in the lead as they clear the pedestrian bridge and zoom past pit row.

Image
Helicopter view of pit row.

Image
The officials in the control tower are enjoying really big gulp drinks today.

More from Overlook Raceway Park.

Image
Scratch-built pits with upper spectator area and control tower. Fuel tanks are on a sturdy stand behind the pits.

Image
Maurice Carter has just passed the Scalextric grandstand in his Trans-Am Camaro.

Image
Just after passing through the chicane behind the pits, the drivers want to make sure to avoid slamming into the cliff wall that supports the back straight above. I used tree bark to make the cliff wall because it looked like stone to me.

Image
A lone spectator managed to get out onto the starter's perch before it is officially opened. We'll need to add some security so spectators don't fall over the rail during a race.

I finally figured out how to make photos appear in my August 18 posts. So, go back a few posts to actually see the photos of my in-progress slot car track called Overlook Raceway Park. Next up, photos of more recent scenery work on my track. I get lots of ideas from other tracks shown on this site and hope some of you might get some ideas from mine too.
