Latest Scaley digital conversion

Postby patwa » Mon Mar 04, 2013 12:44 pm

This is my latest digital conversion.
Osterero Watson Indy roadster.
Scalextric F1 chip in the tail piece took a little carefull grinding but I am happy with the result.
The original Slot.it motor was a little quick so it got a stock Scaley motor.
Still goes very well.
As you know digital can be hard on the cars and I would like to keep this in one piece.

Excellent work!

AND...

IF that's a 1/32 model... then WOW... REALLY excellent work! I don't think I could ever fit in a Carrera D132 chip into a 1/32 Indy-type car.

Thanks for the kind words gentlemen.
Yes it is 1/32. Like I said, a little bit of grinding into the tail piece, but the Scaley F1 chip works a charm.
I had to extend the connections as this is a front engined car.
Now if my mates would just get theirs finished the show can begin.
When I first posted the pic it was upside down.
Go figure.

patwa:

It's me again! Some more questions. (Forgive me if you posted the information here or elsewhere.)

* When you say "Scaley conversion"... you're talking only about the digital chip, right? (i.e. That's not a Scalextric car.)

IF that's so...

* What body kit is that?

Thanks!

Hi LAMing, Yes it is a scalextric F1 chip in an Osterero Watson roadster.Above is the link to the Osterero site.
It looks like the Watson roadsters are not available at the moment. They do batches as required so the availability may change. They are good to deal with so it may be a good idea to contact them and enquire about upcoming availability. If you search around on the net there are still a few around in retail outlets. They are a bit pricey as a ready to race item, I bought the kit and that is a bit more affordable.Glad you like the car.
