So I emailed Slot.it to see if they had a list of cars that include the Carrera digital chip mount. Below is the response they sent me. Hopefully it is a little help to some of you.

Dear Bruce,

Yes, all new releases come with Carrera chip adapter under the base.
But if you have old models, it depends on which models.

For example with Porsche we started 4 years ago.
With LMP cars 2 years ago.

A part from Classic and GT cars, all new releases has Carrera chip adapter.
All DTM cars, all LMP cars, Porsche 956 and Porsche 962, Nissan CA28f, Toyota CA19 and CA41.

if you need to know about an old model in particular it is better you sent the code or the list of cars you have.
