Carrera Digital parts question

Postby WaltB » Fri Jan 18, 2019 3:33 pm

I've decided to convert most of my analog cars to digital and am curious if the white plastic plugs and terminal ends used by Carrera are available in bulk anywhere?
I could hard-wire them , but difficult to swap from car to car.

Suitable LED's for headlights would be on my list also (and wiring tips for same) Cincyslots may have posted this before?

I'm capable of doing the installs ok, but finding the correct pieces online is daunting. I know I've seen this info here but haven't found it yet, so any help is very much appreciated.

Thanks, Walt :text-thankyouyellow:

Found LEDs and some other pieces ok and wiring info on the web. Fairly simple with Digital.

Connectors are still an issue - Anyone know how small an EC2 connector from an RC car is? My nearest hobby store is 90 miles or I would go look

Cincy Slots recently advertised pairs for lights and motors.

Since you have lot of cars, you could order a bunch of plug and sockets (not sure what they are called) and cut the carrera one off and solder on the new ones. That would help you with the swapping of the chips.
The plugs for the lights are different type and different size than the motor plugs.

Not sure 30 is a lot but they seem to multiply at night. Most are non lighted but some were - about 50/50

At $7 for a pair of leads that will add up pretty fast, need a more economical way. probably just get a selection of the 'bay and see what will work.

It seems this thread is posted twice in the same forum. Anyhow, I posted ebay item #'s for the 2 different size connectors in the other thread. Sorry, I don't know how to post a link :?
