Delayed Start issues w/Carrera Digital

Hi guys,

Does anyone know what would cause cars to have a delay when starting the race or restarting after a caution? For instance, sometimes, one car will essentially stall out and have a delay before it starts moving when starting. This happens to all of our cars and on all parts of the track. Sometimes the delay is very minimal, and sometimes it is a 1 to 2 second delay, which can really affect the outcome of a race. If you have seen any of my YouTube videos, you may notice this, especially at the start of races. A couple things to consider, we are using an updated Control Unit and we only run with Carrera Digital wireless controllers. Also, I am running with an adjustable power supply and the amps set to 7.5. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Could the controllers be going into sleep mode? We always pump the controller before starting and restarting a race. If not, you can get a slight delay.

Josh I've never had the 1-2 sec delay that you're taking about but I've always had a short delay on startup or track call. If the car comes off the track and I don't use the track call the car starts right up. You would think it's related to the interruption of power to the CU. Shouldn't be but you never know. Just my experience.

Best way to check to see if it's sleep mode related is to have everyone pump the throttle once before the start and restarting the race.

It's pretty much all the cars that have the delay for me. It might even be the stock controllers. I know 32LbKing has some controllers that are really sensitive to throttle input.

The controllers sleep really fast- particularly the 2.4ghz wireless. If you spend just a little bit of time clearing a wreck and replacing a car, they will go to sleep. We always squeeze the lane change button during the countdown- it won't trigger the false start, but it wakes the controllers.

Yes we both use the stock wireless controllers.

Here is a little update for everyone. We raced last night, and it turns out that our issue was indeed that the controllers were going to sleep. We made sure to tap the pluger or the lane change button before starting each time, and we didn't have any of the issues that we usually have. There were a couple times where we forgot to 'awaken' the controllers, and then that pesky old delay would show its head again. I want to say thank you to everyone who chimed in on this thread.
