Suggestion for Carrera

Postby Czar » Tue Aug 11, 2015 2:58 pm

As I get more into digital racing I keep hearing about frustration trying to fit Carrera's chips into other cars. I have experienced my own frustrations too. It occurred to me that a simple fix would be for Carrera to put the lane change light on a two to three inch wire or ribbon. That way you could position the chip (maybe glue it onto the underside of the hood) where it would fit, and still position the light where it needs to be. Pretty simple with little added cost to Carrera.

That would be great addition to Carrera's chip selection.
A German company just starting making a chip like this, Slot car dreams:

Its a little pricey at 30.00 EUR plus shipping, but it is smaller and has the LED on lead wires.

Don't forget you can remove the led and extend it yourself. Has been done a lot.

Randy....is that the WHOLE chip.......You've got to be kidding. :text-bravo:

Wow!!! What a great chip! The 30 EURO price for the chip includes a 20% VAT. I assume that would not be charged to non-EU customers. The price for the stand Carrera chip (at my LHS) is $25.00, so without the VAT it would be close enough in price that I know where my money would go. Maybe someone in the US will begin importing these. Thank you for the information, Randy.

I really like the size of that chip. I am looking forward to hear how well the chip performs.

Best regards,
