Tailspin Hobbies, 4498 Rt. 66, Apollo, PA 15613 is in the process of building a four lane Carrera layout. Track size is 9 x 33 feet and will provide some good racing. We hope to be up and running within the next four weeks. Call Tom at 724-727-7223 for more details.

We will continue to update and hopefully have some pictures along the way. We plan on running weekly races but times and day are yet to be decided. Do you have any suggestions? This is the track that started at AB Charles and ended up at Legions. Now it will be at Tailspin for the long term. No league, just club type racing and all are welcome.

It looks like we will be up and running around Thanksgiving. Hobby shop remodel almost done and track planning underway. We really hope to grow this with new and old racers alike. There is a core group of guys that raced at Legions and they are building a track on that side of town. The group of racers that is helping get Tailspin Hobbies up and running ran at Legions but did not like the league format. We plan on having a set race day with different divisions based on experience. Mag and no mag races will be run on the same day.

I too would come down for some quality no mag racing.
I'm just south of Altoona and travel to Buffalo NY every 6 weeks or so and stay for a week or two at my son's place.
I race at Ace Hobby in Niagra Falls and with the guys in the RTR league.
It has become my passion and I can't get enough.
I currently have 80 feet of Carrera track that is soon to be replaced with a custom routed track.

Track progress contiues. The process is taking time but we are still shooting for a Thanksgiving timeframe.

Track is up and running!!! Stop by and try it out. Store is open 11-7 M-Sat. Looks like racing will be on Sundays. We are meeting at 11:30 this weekend to try out the track and have a fun race. Stop by.

We are going to try and get a no mag class going. It looks like modern GT typ cars is the body style. Come by on Sundays at 12:00 if you are a no mag racer.

The Fall session will be starting shortly. Any new racers in the area are welcome. We have about 10 full time racers on any given Sunday. Racing starts at 1:00 pm. Practice at 12:00 pm. We can run brackets for different skill levels. We have a Facebook page called Slot Car Guys. Look us up.
