SMALL TORQUE MOTOR SPEEDWAY MODIFIEDS: WEEK 2

Postby BIG E » Tue Nov 12, 2013 3:19 pm

***Here's a quick update from Long Island, with pictures and results to follow by Frank from NY --
Last night's event was ended in a two car "shoot out" between Lenny and myself. After the main event, both cars were scored with the same amount of laps , and had stopped in the same section of the first turn!
So, Tony had us run four short 30 second heats, with the same lane rotation as the feature race. When the power went off for the final time, Lenny's car rolled up to and halfway past mine. His front bumper was barely three inches past the one on my car! And this was after I had led almost the entire "shoot out" until that point. The 14 had been defeated by the 88!
Well, as I like to say, you've got to have FUN with this hobby, and we sure got our money's worth last night!

Looking forward to the pictures... Ernie

PS - Just to rub it in on myself, I qualified on the pole in time trials, too! (And I'll need those two bonus points...)
I'm feelin' like good ol' Harry Gant with these close second place finishes. :>)
