The laps per lane, total laps, total distance, ranking of distance, and portion of total distance relative to the class leader is indicated for each each class run and for the day total. The IOE column indicates the portion of distance to the sum of the best distance in each class (e.g., if a person won all classes, then they would have 100%). The Avg % column indicates the average of the class percentages (e.g., equal weighting of classes).

Notes:
1) Some adjustments were made to the results:
a) Krista's Fly Truck total score was actually 69.8, not 70.
b) One of David's Fly Classic lap counts was rounded up instead of down like everyone else's. If we want to round up, I can add 0.1 to everyone's heat totals and regenerate the table. That is not a problem.

2) If we find that the distance for each track is significantly different, we should consider using the percentage so each track is weighted equally. Ideally each class at each track should be equal. Either one would be easy to implement in the spreadsheet.

3) I calculated the total distance in metres instead of feet. This was to reduce the number of digits in the answers so they are easy to read. The total distance in metres is only significant to 13 metres anyways due to only measuring to 0.1 of a lap and totaling nine such values. The total distance in feet would be accurate to only 44 feet or so.

4) Using our previous scoring system the average percentage would have been 80% for a three lane track. As you can see, our average for this race was almost 90%. Everyone is being rewarded for how far they were able to drive in the time period. Hopefully this is less frustrating as you can still get a good result even if you come out a few times. I consider this a good result for the club. Hopefully you do too.

5) Average scale speeds:
a) Fly Trucks: 216 km/h (highest individual average was 250 km/h in the blue lane), no wonder these things are so hard to handle.
b) Fly Classics: 258 km/h (highest individual average was 298 km/h in the blue lane).
c) Racer Group 5: 271 km/h (highest individual average was 305 km/h in the blue lane).

6) The last chart and these notes were published after the next comment. The comment is in reference to the picture of the white board.

7) Alan reached 40 lifetime class podiums.

See you in two weeks for either the Can Am proxy or the club race depending upon the arrival of the proxy cars.

Welcome race fans to the season opener at the one the only Tomenga I'll be your host with most Fozzy Bear yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. Today's venue is a beautiful track with its tight black hairpins its multiple chicanes and a strait that gives you no rest. But not all is lost as you skid down the pavement on you roof you'll be dazzled by its lovely scenery as your poor driver screams for his life. The usual suspects arrived to a new set of rules a new race format and a bran new wardrobe by Two Scoops which is ironically a tie dye shirt. Was i the only one slightly confused by this or maybe he was .....undercover. Either way a few notables are missing this year. Brad has decided to take the year off as his beard is becoming a Buddhist or was it a nudist either way we wish him the best in his endeavors. Paul was last seen camping to close to a family of bears we also wish him the best.


First up in the lineup was Ninco........errrr wait Flyslot trucks. This big bad terrors left the marshals scrambling as the rusty trigger fingers flew. Even no hands was all elbows. But with the sun behind us a long Shadow emerged taking the most laps in all 3 lanes with a precision that would rival NASA. Clearly someones been practicing. Triple did terrible coming in a respectable 2nd (terrible for TTT) as the black lane swallowed it first victim. But coming out of no-where our own poet AL looked to be in the best form i think i've ever seen him in terrorizing his competitors. Also in fine form Badger Bob and Compu-Bot AA-RON 4000 rounded out 5th and 4th respectably. In 6th was a certain Tie Die shirt wearing hippy that looks and awful lot like a .........hmmmmmm. He was also in the best form i've seen in an opener. As for the rest of us well.... super glue will fix it.

With the Worst of it over in came low and wide. Fly Classics where a delight to the Marshals as they rarely popped out but a few accidents are inevitable. The famous Shadow marshalling golden gloves looked a little rusty but he did manage to pull off a double de slot two hander proving once and for all a certain bear will most likely never make marshal of the year. After the horrible form of the Semi-Trucks TTT fired his manager his mechanic his publicist and this reporter in an attempt to bring back his game. I don't even work for the guy but whatever his did it worked. His Fly danced across the track like it floated on everyones broken podium dreams. In a shattering sweep TTT took first with a certain Shadow just behind ever calculating ever consistent always there. Coming in at an amazing 3rd was No Hands with a porche thats been around for as long as i can remember. You could say he knows that car like the back of his......oh wait uhhhh never mind. Well done Mr.NoHands your a wonder to watch on the track.

Due to the new rules we only race 3 classes but each class takes alot longer with 4 minute races counting your laps. At the end of these heats was the infamous Group 5 racer sideways. This class separates the men from the boys. My own Lancia Stratos proved that the car did about as well in real life as it did in slot cars. Didn't win anything blowing the drive train. This was a very close class. Starting in 3rd with a devastating M1 with a reputation as long as my arm with the Terminator himself T2. With home track advantage and a car originally built by TTT himself nothing could stop this car. Its low its wide its fast as heck. AA-Ron managed to run over Two Scoops dreams of being like Willey Nelson blowing a tire in a spectacular crash. The air got under his Porche and the car flipped and spun. Al was quoted "Oh bugger came out smoother than smooth" Our newest member Krista showed her Fozzy training roots as She nearly put the car on backwards as the peanut gallery erupted. TTT was quoted saying you can use the "its my first time" for at least a year. The driver was killed and quickly replaced and the race continued. No Porsche was harmed in the making of this film. After proving without a doubt consistency is key and with a class leading blue lane pull the Shadow proved that soon he will be master and TTT will be the apprentice. But alas that day is not today. TTT took 1st in group 5 edging out Shadow by 1.1 laps spread between the black and the red lane.

So where did it all end up, who won the top price, did Kevin ever get street cred for his Tie Dye Shirt thats a big no. TTT took 1st by 0.4 laps basically mugging our most gentlemanly of gentleman Shadow. Its going to be a tight season in the tops tiers. The next shocker is what happened below. At 327.8 in 5th place is Bob. AAron Compu Bot 4000's racing algorithms got himself into 4th 0.3 laps above Bob and AL in 3rd 0.3 laps above Compu-Bot. Thats a very very very close spread proving that this whole seasons going to be a great one. Thanks for crunching the numbers Dave. It was good to see everyone after the summer holidays. 90% average on the first race of the season with the new format is a plus, considering not everyone in the club knocked the rust off their trigger fingers at the Tourist Trophy earlier!

Colorful write up as usual Fozzy. I can't believe how close the laps were between 1st and 2nd place and between 3rd and 4th place as well. This is shaping up to be an interesting season. BTW. Who's writing/posting this response anyways? :think: :o :lol: :whistle:
