TEAM RULES:

1.Team Car - Only one car is allowed per team.

2.Teams - Each team consists of 2 or more drivers (3 or more is recommended).

3.Driver Changes - Teams may change their driver as often as desired during a segment. (Please be respectful of other teams by trying not to block their view). Each team member should get a significant amount of driving time. Teams who have members doing the majority of the driving are discouraged.

4.Team Marshal - Each team is required to provide at least 1(one) track marshal at all times.

RACE RULES:

1.Pre-race tech. – Prior to the start of the racing, each car entry will go through a pre-race tech consisting of a visual inspection based on the car rules. Cars will be impounded before the race.

2.Race – Each team will run each lane for the specified length of time and for the specified number of rotations with a brief intermission in between. The segment length and number of rotations will be determined the day of the race.

3.Dry Tires and Braids – The cars’ tires and braids must be dry at all times when on the track. Tire “goop” is not allowed. Braid “juice” is not allowed. (If the braids have been previously treated with braid juice, they are not allowed.)

4.Maintenance & Repairs - All work to the cars is to be done “on the clock” during the race. Major car repair should be taken to the team “garage” area. If glue is used for repairs, it must be completely dry before the car goes back onto the track. Breakable parts (mirrors, wipers, etc.) do not need to be present/repaired/replaced.

5.Parts Replacement - All parts can be replaced except for the Body. If replacing the chassis, you must use the motor, gears, wheels, axles, tires, pod and guide from the old chassis.

6.Intermissions - During the intermission periods (~5 min. each) between segments, only the following work is allowed:

· changing the car lane and sticker

· braid adjustments

The team driver’s controller is also connected to the appropriate lane for the next segment. (All other work must be done “on the clock”.)

7.Track Calls - Once the race starts, it will only be stopped for a track call due to marshal damage or for cars which land on the floor.

8.Missed Laps – Due to the nature of this event, it is difficult to accurately account for any missed (uncounted) laps. We will do our best to account for missed laps, but there is no guarantee.

9.Post-race tech. – At the completion of the race, all cars will be impounded for a post-race tech consisting of a teardown inspection for adherence to the rules. One car at a time will be tech’d according to the finishing order 1st thru 4th. A representative of each team will be asked to dismantle their car for inspection by the officials.
