Rare 3 lane True 1/24 scale Scalextric track

I have reluctantly come to the conclusion that I will not ever have the space to set up a permanent layout using the extremely rare (especially in the US) TRUE 1/24 scale (4" lane centers) THREE lane Scalextric track. So it's looking for a good home.

Background: Manufactured only 1968 to 1970, it was only sold in Europe, never imported into the US. Stainless steel rails, it was actually advertised to be set up and left outside. Just wipe down before using. The track was sold in two sets...which only came with TWO cars and no power supplies. The cars were the Jaguar and Alfa Romeo. Separately you could get an F1 Ferrari and Indy Lotus 38. All are extremely collectible and expensive, even in incomplete condition. The Lotus especially so.

The track changes hand in Europe literally for $20 to $60 PER SECTION. The cache I have is made up of dozens of transactions with sellers on Europe ebay. I hate to think what I have in it, with shipping from Europe likely being more than I paid for the track.

Some of it is virtually new. Some well played with/left outside. Some has been repaired. But all is VERY useable. A decent sized layout takes a huge footprint, and with two different radius curves, you can actually make a 6 lane layout. I have enough outer curves to make a basic, but large, 6 lane. My cache includes the rare banked turn, IT is a huge radius turn.

Many of the shoulders I have are OEM, but even more are 3D printed in black styrene.

What I have:
Outer Curves (standard): 23
Outer Curve Outer Border: 24
Outer Curve Inner Border: 4 (2 original, 2 3D printed in black plastic). I have the .stl file to use with a 3D printer to make as many as you want.
Inner curve: 45 (plus 3 repairable for 48)
Inner curve Outer Border: 59 (22 original, 37 3D printed in black plastic, have .stl file).
Inner curve Inner Border: 54
Banked Turn: Full with all 6 sections (no supports)
Banked Turn, approaches. 4 total.
Straight sections: 71 (plus 3 repairable)
Straight Borders: 37 (6 original, 31 3D printed in black plastic, have .stl file).
Power/Dead Strip Straights: 5 (3 power tap sections, 2 dead strip lap counter sections).
NOTE: One dead strip section has the TrackMate hardware, that alone worth a hundred dollars, the other is wired for Exocet wireless)
Fly Over sections: 6 (3 up, 3 down) plus one extra fly over section that is repairable
Misc. 'approach' borders: 11
Couple dozen original fencing, plus a lot of white Strombecker fencing which is usable.
Box of broken track sections and steel rails used to repair other track.

The layout below is the last time it was set up 'permanently.' The total track available is about twice what you see in the picture. The banked turn is not in that layout. The drivers' stations in the foreground of one picture are included, as is the hardware for Trackmate, Exoslot. The drivers stations use Professor motor hardware, with circuit breakers and Slot Car Corner control holders.

The BAD news: Well, first it's expensive: $1500 for everything. The Trackmate hardware alone is worth a buck and a half. Still, this is about a third of what it brings in Europe. Second: MUST PICK UP!!!

There is no way you'd want to pay for shipping this, the track is massively heavy, and the drivers' station is 6' feet long requiring special packaging. I'd estimate it would cost at least $500 to ship it, in several large boxes, in the Continental US. Maybe more. At full price I'll deliver to/meet you within 2 hours of Annapolis, MD, where I live. That's to Philly area; Wilmington, DE; Charlestown, WVA; Harrisburg, PA; Fredericksburg, VA.

It would cost you more for this much Carrera track, and you'd only have 2 lanes. This track, 50 years old, compares favorably to Carrera and any other modern or vintage track.

Large initial investment! But...you never have to spend another dollar! 3 guys @ $500 each and a club track you can change any time you get tired of it. 5 guys @ $300 apiece and a basement you can use. Great opportunity. If you ever disband, each guy can take his share of track home and have a smaller 3 lane. This is real 1/24 track with 4 inch lane centers.

Wow, the holy grail of slot car set tracks. I have read about your track through your various posts on slot forums.


If only I was closer and had not devoted so much effort in acquiring vintage discontinued Artin 1/32 track over the past year since returning to the hobby after many decade's absence.

...still a near perfect solution for a sectional club track.
