1/24 3 lane Scalex track at slot car show
Posted: Wed Feb 14, 2018 6:38 amThinning out the slot car 'herd,' I'm likely selling a very large lot of EXTREMELY rare THREE lane, true 1/24 scale (4" lane centers) Scalextric track. This track was made for only a couple of years in the late 60's, and was never sold in the US. I know of only two other folks in the US with a quantity such as I have: close to 150 feet. The layout in the picture represents about half the track I have. The cache includes many borders (OEM and 3D printed in black styrene), OEM fencing, and even spare rails and busted track pieces that can be scavenged for repairs.
Condition ranges from nearly new/unused to well used and repaired. But all is fully serviceable to create a unique and fantastic slot car layout.
It is beyond unlikely that a cache of this track of this size will come up for sale at any time in this country. Frankly in Europe, where it was originally sold, I've only seen it for sale in small lots and the occasional 'set.'
I will have a table at the slot car show in White Marsh, Maryland on 3/25. The track will be there. What I need to get for the track is likely considerably more than the average show attendee has in his pocket, so I'm putting this out here in case anyone is interested, they can hit the ATM a couple of times.

The big sticking point to selling conventionally is that shipping would be insane. It would be at least 4, if not 5 or 6 large boxes (when properly packed) and this track is very heavy.
This is a rare opportunity to own the rarest of rare track, with three lanes and able to run 1/24. Stainless rails, very deep slots...this compares favorably with any plastic track ever sold, including modern Carrera. It is expensive, but I will likely part with it for far less than I have in it, and far less than it sells for in Europe, where it can bring anywhere from $11 to $20+ per section.
