Was given this today...just throwing it out there to get an idea if it is old or not. At 98 cents and the instructions looking like they were drawn with a pencil it just seemed old .

Fred, I have used those in the auto industry to bend brake lines and fuel lines, but I had not seen any for slot car use. Way cool, and probably works great. I'm with you, the price and overall packaging looks like 60's.

Maybe not the 60s, but certainly I remember that pack from the early 80s.

They rely on using soft metals, the regular K&S brass tubing does not bend too well inside them.

I have a new set that's carded. I also have the old set in a plastic box shown above. I bought it in 1967 when I couldn't find any brass rod locally. The bender for 1/16" tubing is well-worn, but the larger sizes still look as good as new.
