Saving Urethane material

Postby strangebrew » Thu Jul 16, 2015 7:15 pm

Has anyone heard of an inert gas (presumably in an aerosol can) that can be used to keep opened containers
from drying out? I can only keep urethane for a couple of weeks before it gets to thick to flow. I can only cast
so many tires before I have to throw out the urethane.

My first thought was..."how is he storing the stuff?" ie Are you following the manufacturers instructions?

I've been using Reoflex & sealing the opened can after use by covering the opening with plastic wrap & screwing the lid back on tightly..??

I am following this as I have a pack of Reoflex 40 yet to be opened.
There must be a leak somewhere.

That XTEND-IT Dry Gas Blanket could be the go - at $20 a can I hope I can find it locally as I doubt it would ship to well.

I imagine a can would last a long time as well - go through a few bottles of urethane.
